ネオ・スタンダード・ソウル、通称 “ネオスタ”

名古屋、ニューヨーク、東京で活動してきたジャズドラマー倉田大輔、ソウルシンガー・マチ子を中心に2012年に結成される。
1990年代に現れたコンテンポラリーR&BやSoulのサブジャンルである “Neo Soul” をベースにジャズの即興性を併せ、Jazz、Soul、R&Bなどのスタンダード楽曲を新たなアレンジで聴かせる全方位型ユニット。
それぞれがリーダー格でもある、名古屋を代表する人気ジャズミュージシャン達がソウル、R&B、HIP-HOPへ絶妙にクロスオーバーさせる個々の演奏能力の高さとセンスが味わえるユニットだ。

2025年6月、待望の1stアルバム、その名も「nEO sTANDARD sOUL 1st」をリリース。

Founded in 2012, this versatile ensemble brings together renowned jazz drummer Daisuke Kurata, who has graced stages in Nagoya, New York, and Tokyo, and the soulful vocalist Machiko. Rooted in the contemporary R&B and soul subgenre of the 1990s, known as Neo Soul, they infuse their performances with the spontaneity of jazz, offering fresh interpretations of jazz, soul, and R&B standards. Composed of leading Nagoya jazz musicians, each a bandleader in their own right, the unit seamlessly blends soul, R&B, and hip-hop, showcasing their exceptional musicality and taste.

In June 2025, they released their highly anticipated first album, “nEO sTANDRD sOUL 1st.”
